Beer Quotes – Quotes About Beer

– Quotes About Beer

Here’s a quick post about beer quotes. It’s of my favorite subjects – beer.

Beer is sometimes called the nectar of the gods. Its been around for around 7,000 years. In fact, some anthropologists think that beer is the reason for the formation of cities.

Enough of all of that. Let’s get to some good quotes.

We can start with Plato – see I told you beer had been around for a long time.

He was a wise man who invented beer

Wise man that Plato.

How about Benjamin Franklin. You’ve probably seen this on a man cave wall or at a bar somewhere.

Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy

How about honest Abe Lincoln. Is Abe saying get people drunk before you tell them the facts?

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer.

Frank Zappa of “Don’t Eat the Yellow Snow” fame.

You can’t be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline – it helps if you have some kind of football team, or some nuclear weapons, but in the very least you need a beer.”

Terry Pratchett of the Disc Series of Books.

I don’t think I’ve drunk enough beer to understand that.

I think I’ve said this once on twice myself.

Oh, this beer here is cold, cold and hop-bitter, no point coming up for air, gulp, till it’s all–hahhhh.”
― Thomas Pynchon, Gravity’s Rainbow

Never underestimate how much assistance, how much satisfaction, how much comfort, how much soul and transcendence there might be in a well-made taco and a cold bottle of beer.”
― Tom Robbins, Jitterbug Perfume

And finally Martin Luther.

Whoever drinks beer, he is quick to sleep; whoever sleeps long, does not sin; whoever does not sin, enters Heaven! Thus, let us drink beer!”
